After spending a day island hopping via Honda Bay, what are you going to do for the second day? Since you’re still close to the upper north of Puerto Princesa’s city proper while at Honda Bay, you can spend your second day of tour still within Puerto Princesa; and there’s no better destination than the world famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSNRP)!

If your tour starts at Honda Bay, you might as well take your breakfast in any of the islands where you have found accommodation. Otherwise, you will be scrambling for a short breakfast on the road going back to Sabang from Honda Bay. But if your tour starts in Puerto Princesa, you have plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Morning Activity

Most tourists experience the underground river cruise in the morning. The tour lasts for about 45 minutes and is often included in tour packages offered by local guides from Puerto Princesa. The package consists of a complete plan including hotel pickup, river cruise and other fees, and a lunch by the beach. Should you prefer to experience the adventure from the city to the underground river, you can take an early morning jeepney or bus ride from Puerto Princesa to Sabang and hire a boat which will bring you to the famed subterranean river. Backpackers on the other hand can take the long and tiring road via Monkey Trail. It will at least save you the cost of hiring a boat and will offer more scenery to view along the way.

Lunch prospects are plenty on the beach. If you have opted to choose a tour package, then your lunch is free. If not, there are plenty of small inns where you can find solace of a full lunch meal after the river tour.

Afternoon Activity

Most travelers leave Sabang after lunch but if you opt to stay, you can take a plunge swimming on the beach, jungle trekking, or with yet another tour and pass by Mangrove trees which thrive by the river.

There are plenty of small cottages as well as luxury hotels which can accommodate you for the night including dinner.

Evening Activity

You deserve a good night’s sleep before heading out to leave Sabang early for the next day. Otherwise, you can start a bonfire by the beach till the morning comes.
